Arakawa ward is located at the Northern part of central Tokyo. It is mostly residential and a great place to live. The ward is named after the Arakawa River but here is a fun fact, The Arakawa River doesn’t run inside Arakawa ward, in fact it doesn’t even touch it. It is just very very close. Close enough to go and watch Arakawa fireworks festival every year! Ironically Arakawa ward is shaped by Sumida River on the Northern and Eastern borders. Because of it’s proximity to two big rivers, locals of Arakawa ward must be careful about flood warnings. But don’t worry, it is not a problem with new tall mansions. Arakawa ward is connected to Yamanote Line in central Tokyo with Nippori and Nishi Nippori stations. Also many major metro lines passes through it. For transpotation, living in Arakawa is very convenient. Locals can also enjoy a slow ride in Toden-Arakawa Line Sakura Tram.
