With the Covid infection rate skyrocketing in Tokyo everyone is trying to get vaccinated. But How? It is already very difficult for foreigners to get a vaccine reservation because of the language barrier, and on top of it because of vaccine scarcity, it is almost impossible to find an available day for reservation unless you are willing to wait more than a month to get your first shot.
Here is how I got my reservation: After unsuccessfully trying to find a spot for Pfizer Biontech vaccine in August I started to searching online for small clinics that give reservations. Some clinics have a "no-waste" waiting list. It means if someone cancels their reservation at the last minutes they will call the next person in the list so the vaccine won't go to waste. I didn't have any luck with these waiting lists either. Finally, I found the information about a small clinic in Ikebukuro that takes reservations by phone. I called immediately and made my friends call for their reservations, too. We were able to get reservations because we were fast but the spots were all full soon after. So search for your local clinics, keep your eyes open and be fast. You can try to search for clinic lists on twitter.
Also here is a link for a vaccination center of Tokyo metropolitan government: https://tokyovaccine.pa-cv19-reserv.jp/ew773490 New spots may open depending on the vaccine stocks.
Were you able to get your vaccine reservation and how? Please share with us in the comments?
Since I live in Saitama so I received the vaccine notification way later than most of my friends who already got the first dose months ago, but they were trying so hard to reserve the spot. However, as time goes by, more vaccines were produced which resulted in many available dates and times, and vaccines for everyone. I also reserved from the link mentioned above, which is really convenient for people who already got the notification, even from different cities besides Tokyo, you're still able to reserve it.
